Mommy & Me Playdate

Yesterday my mom and I spent the day playing with the Cricut.  Using the MTC software and a purchased pattern, we cut these out and spent the day assembling them.  They are in rough draft form right now because I wanted to give you a sneak peek, the finished product fully embellished with a teacup, teabag dispenser, spoon and vase with flowers will be revealed on December 18th on the Cricut FANatics blog.

Although a daunting looking project, the store where I purchased the svg file from had a video that was quite easy to follow, after 3-4 more of these I'll be able to whip them right out assembly line style because everyone who sees it will want one in my family....lol

My mom made this set for a friend who is retiring, loves tea and collects teapots.  I think it's perfect.  She went home with some matching green stickles to embellish the panels after she gets home so they'll have time to dry without having to transport while still wet.  Hope she takes a picture of the finished teapot for me to be able to post. UPDATE-scroll down to see her picture after she applied green stickles to the white areas of her teapot.

This teapot is mine, I tend to go for the heritage/antique look, I just wonder if it will turn out as I am envisioning it in my head.  It has been assembled and the panels have all been inked which really makes it pop.  I have already added some pearls to it in spots and will be embellishing it more before it's debut on the blog December 18th.

Thanks for stopping by to peek...Keep watching for the final set...

Freda

UPDATE:
My mom just sent this pic of her teapot with stickles applied to the cracks, I'm loving it....the pic is from a cellphone so it isn't the greatest, but it helps to show the panels on the teapot better.

    1. These were made with a file I purchased from SVGcuts.com Tea for Two for $6.99. I used Make the Cut Software to cut them on the Expression. I bought the software pre-Provocraft lawsuit, you can't purchase it to cut with Cricuts now. They can also be cut with the SCAL software if you own that...

      thanks for looking.
